NEW DELHI: Seema Haider, the Pakistani woman who made global headlines after marrying Indian national Sachin Meena, has welcomed a baby girl. The birth took place at Greater Noidaโs S Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, with both mother and child reported to be in stable condition. Seemaโs lawyer, Dr. AP Singh, confirmed the news, stating that it was a โsmooth delivery.โ
Sachin Meena, overwhelmed with joy, called the birth โthe most cherished momentโ of his life. The couple has now invited the public to suggest names for their newborn. โWe seek a name that symbolizes harmony and optimism,โ Sachin expressed.
An Unconventional Love Story
Originally hailing from Pakistanโs Sindh province, Seema Haider first connected with Sachin in 2020 through the mobile game PUBG. Their virtual friendship blossomed into love, leading her to leave Pakistan and enter India unlawfully via Nepal in May 2023. She was arrested in July 2023 for illegal entry but later granted bail. However, legal complications persist, with unresolved citizenship applications and ongoing court proceedings.
Before her marriage to Sachin, Seema was wedded to Gulam Haider in Pakistan and shares four children with him. She has since filed a case against her former husband, accusing him of tarnishing her reputation online.
A Controversial Journey
The coupleโs wedding, held at Nepalโs Pashupatinath Temple, captured media attention across borders. Now residing in Greater Noidaโs Rabupura locality, their story has come to symbolize defiance against traditional norms amid tense India-Pakistan relations. However, legal uncertainty looms, as Indian authorities have yet to determine Seemaโs residency status.
Despite these challenges, the couple remains hopeful. โThis little girl has brought immense happiness into our lives. Our focus is on her bright future,โ Sachin stated. As they navigate legal hurdles, name suggestions continue to flood in, adding a heartfelt new chapter to their remarkable journey.
