Pak LeT terrorist Usman active since 2020 killed in Baramulla

Srinagar: In an operation, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), successfully neutralized two terrorists in the Sopore-Rafiabad area of Baramulla District.

According to a press statement issued by the Indian Army, specific intelligence was received on 19 June 2024 through the JKP, indicating that two terrorists were holed up in a house in Hadipura village of the Rafiabad area. Acting on this information, a joint operation was launched, swiftly cordoning off the area.

“Following standard procedures, civilians were safely evacuated from adjacent houses, and the area was secured. As the search commenced, terrorists opened fire on the security forces. In the ensuing firefight, two terrorists were neutralized,” the Indian Army stated.

The killed terrorists have been identified as Usman and Umar, both of Pakistani origin and associated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Usman has been active in the Kashmir Valley since 2020. Significant quantities of weapons and ammunition were recovered following the operation.

The Indian Army hailed the operation as a major success, attributing it to the high operational tempo maintained by the security forces over the past few months. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
