NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will exclusively conduct entrance examinations for higher education institutions starting in 2025, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced in Parliament today. The NTA will no longer oversee recruitment exams, marking a significant shift in its operational mandate.

“This strategic decision allows NTA to focus solely on its core mission — assessing candidates for higher education institutions. The reforms are part of our broader effort to streamline and improve the efficiency of educational assessments in the country,” Pradhan said.

By aligning NTA’s resources towards conducting entrance exams, the government aims to create a dedicated and seamless testing system for students and institutions.
