NEW DELHI: In a significant victory, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), a Congress-backed student wing, has made a comeback in the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections after a seven-year hiatus. Ronak Khatri: ‘Matka Man of DU’
Ronak Khatri, the newly elected President of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) for 2024, is popularly known as the ‘Matka Man of DU.’ He earned this nickname by placing water pots around the campus during the scorching heat and filing a successful petition to address the water problem. His unique campaigning style and dedication to student rights have made him a favourite among students. Ronak joined the NSUI in 2024 aiming to bring transparency and fairness to DUSU. His slogan, ‘From the countryside to DU,’ reflects his commitment to student welfare.
The DUSU results were originally scheduled to be announced on September 28, a day after the elections, but were delayed due to a Delhi High Court order. The court had stalled the declaration of results until the defacement caused during the election campaign was cleaned.
