Are you a working professional wishing to pursue MBA to take your career to next level? If yes, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras might have an offer you can’t deny.

The premier institute has invited applications for the Executive MBA (EMBA) degree program, which is designed specifically for mid-career working professionals.

This two-year program is a rigorous yet practice-oriented curriculum offered by the IIT’s Department of Management Studies, one of the 10 top business schools in India as per the NIRF 2022 Ranking.

The EMBA programme provides cutting-edge expertise in areas like the digital economy, global strategy and industry 4.0 technologies in tune with industry expectations.

“Through the course, students are introduced to social media and internet marketing, which are crucial elements of a contemporary business. The programme provides exposure to platform economics and global business management,” IIT-M said in a statement.

Cyber security and its applications, as well as business strategies and innovation, are other crucial topics. Students would be exposed to technical topics like 3D printing and manufacturing techniques.

Applications opened on https://doms.iitm.ac.in/emba/on September 5. The last date to apply is October 10, 2022.

“The EMBA program has been steadily receiving overwhelming support from the industry. The students are diverse with an average experience of 11 years and come from different domains in the industry,” said Prof. M Thenmozhi, head of the Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras.

He further said, “The program leverages the Department’s strong faculty resources, cutting-edge research, and experiential learning.”

It aims to equip mid-career working professionals with deep functional and broad industrial domain knowledge, the integrative perspective of boundary-spanning business decisions, and leadership traits to contribute to a global business setup.

The course is designed for combined weekend learning — physical and virtual. The classes, to be held over alternate weekends, will start in January next year.

The eligibility for admissions includes a Bachelor’s Degree with first-class marks in any discipline and a minimum of three years of industry experience. The selection would be through an entrance examination and personal interview.
