SRINAGAR: Notorious Jaish-e-Muhammad commander among two terrorists were killed in an ongoing anti-terror operation in Awantipora area of southern Kashmir, Kashmir, Additional Director General of Police, Vijay Kumar said.

The encounter at Wandakpora of Awantipora broke out after joint teams of police, Army and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched a search operation in the area.
โAs the joint team of security forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter,โ police said adding that during an exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed.
ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that Kaiser was active since 2018 and was involved in many terror-related activities. Mopping up of the area was going on when this report was being filed.
