A controversy has erupted even before the Karnataka Government could be sworn in, as Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge sent a letter to CM Siddaramaiah, providing directives on how the cabinet composition should be structured, while explicitly requesting the inclusion of his son at number 6. The letter by Kharge has raised eyebrows and sparked discussions regarding nepotism and the transparency of the cabinet selection process.
The initial list of elected MLAs selected for ministerial positions includes Priyank Kharge, son of Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha and current president of the Congress party.
