NEW DELHI: The killing of a Dalit man, Lakhbir Singh from Taran taran at the site of  farmers protests on Dusshehra morning has now got another twist after second Nihang Sikh from Amritsar this afternoon announced to surrender before Haryana Police.

It’s not clear whether he was present at the site of murder or are the surrenders now taking place in a show of solidarity but the barbaric killing has triggered national outrage, forcing Haryana Police to expand their investigation beyond the site of farmer protest.

Talking to reporters before his arrest, Narayana Singh showed no remorse on his face and said that Lakhbir Singh had been punished for sacrilege”.

My life as sevadar of Guru Gobind Singh is successful.

Narain Singh was garlanded with currency notes by some people when he paid obeisance in the Amarkot Gurdwara before his arrest. The Nihangs continue to maintain that the man was killed by them and his hands after desecration of holy book Guru Granth Sahib.

As the killing has created a national outrage, Sonipat Police has said there could be more arrests taking place soon. The body of 35-year-old Lakhbir Singh, from Punjab’s Tarn Taran district, was seen tied to a police barricade with the left hand chopped off and right foot dismembered.
