Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi says there should be a coordination committee meeting to discuss Bihar deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav’s promotion.
On Monday Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar had hinted at pushing Yadav to the forefront of Bihar politics so that the 32-year-old can have more responsibilities in running the state. This was not said overtly, but Kumar told reporters on Monday, “ Ab Tejashwi Yadav ko aage badhana hai.”
According to Manjhi “Mahagathbandhan has not decided this and this is only Nitish Kumar’s wish. On Wednesday, Majhi said, “announcement should be made after the ‘coordination’ meeting.”
In recent times, CM Kumar has talked about taking Tejashwi forward many times. It is being said that in the coming days, he can hand over the power of Bihar to Yadav. The CM has indicated this in a conversation with the media. Pointing to Tejashwi, he said, “I am not working for myself but for the people, I want to see them move forward.” Kumar has made it clear in many media conversations that his desire is now to advance the new generation in politics.
Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi said the topic of taking Tejashwi forward definitely is not backed by Mahagathbandhan allies as of now. “It would be good if there is an announcement to take a decision through him and move forward” he added.
Manjhi has been demanding a formation of a Mahagathbandhan coordination committee but this demand has not been fulfilled.
Mahagathbandhan or Grand Alliance constitutes primarily the RJD and Congress -it is a political move to crush Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.
It is being said that Kumar might aim for 2024 Prime Ministerial candidature and thus wants to handover the mantle of Bihar to some one younger. But Kumar has not given any statement expressing such a desire.
