PATNA/NEW DELHI– Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has once again solidified his allegiance to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), explicitly ruling out any return to an alliance with Lalu Prasad Yadav and his Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

In a public address in Bihar, Kumar paid homage to the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, crediting him for his political rise.

“Vajpayee ji was instrumental in shaping my political career; he made me a significant minister, showed me immense respect, and nurtured my growth. He even wanted me to be the Chief Minister. Betraying BJP would be betraying his trust,” Kumar stated, dispelling any doubts about his political alignment.

Turning down an offer from Lalu Prasad Yadav for the second time in a day, Kumar was unequivocal.

“There is absolutely no question of returning to Lalu Yadav,” he declared, emphasizing his commitment to the NDA and his disillusionment with past political alliances.

Kumar admitted to a previous misstep by aligning with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) but underscored his decision not to repeat that error.

The Chief Minister’s comments come at a time when the NDA is reportedly strengthening its parliamentary numbers.

Sources within the coalition suggest that up to 15 MPs might join the NDA, with eight expected to switch sides by February.

Kumar also reminisced about his time as a Union Minister under Vajpayee, claiming significant achievements during his tenure, highlighting his dedication to public service.

With these statements, Nitish Kumar has not only clarified his political stance but also reinforced his position within the BJP-led alliance, sending a clear message to both supporters and critics alike in the complex landscape of Bihar politics.
