In an attempt to challenge the ruling BJP government at the Centre, two prominent opposition leaders – Delhi’s Chief Minister and National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar – have joined forces in Delhi. The two leaders met at Kejriwal’s residence and called for unity among opposition parties across the country. The setting of the meeting was high on Gandhian symbolism, with a miniature Charkha placed on the center table, and a backdrop featuring India’s greatest icons, including Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Gandhi.
With Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav, AAP’s MP Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha in attendance, the two leaders discussed the current state of politics in India. Kejriwal applauded Nitish Kumar for his efforts in bringing together opposition parties and stressed the importance of unification to bring about much-needed change in the country’s government.
Arvind Kejriwal commended Nitish Kumar for his efforts towards opposition unity and emphasised the need for the entire opposition and people of India to unite in order to bring about a change in the government at the Centre. He expressed that the new government should focus on developing the country and addressing the problems faced by its citizens.

Nitish Kumar also said that they will work to unite opposition parties of the country against the present BJP regime.
After the meeting, Kejriwal raised his concerns regarding the current state of the country, stating that it is going through a challenging phase. He expressed his belief that the current government is one of the most corrupt in the country’s history, making it increasingly difficult for the common man to manage their household expenses. Therefore, it is essential for the entire opposition and the entire country to unite and bring about a change in the government at the Centre, he said.
Kejriwal emphasised the need for a government that can develop the country and alleviate the problems faced by its people. He praised Nitish Kumar for his efforts in bringing together opposition parties and assured his support in this endeavour. He acknowledged that there may be questions from the media and the public, but he is confident that as they move forward, they will provide answers to these concerns.
Kejriwal later tweeted, “Hosted Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar ji and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Tejashwi Yadav ji at my residence. We discussed the current political situation of the country in detail during our meeting.”
