NIT Rourkela grads get record 1534 job offers this year

Eight students were offered the highest package of ₹52.89 lakh per annum

NEW DELHI: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, has achieved a momentous milestone by recording a remarkable number of 1534 job offers from 330 companies, making it the highest ever for an academic year.

Eight students were offered the highest package of  ₹52.89 lakh per annum (LPA), while sixteen others secured packages over ₹50 LPA. Additionally, the institute extended more than 350 internships, with the highest stipend being ₹1.5 lakh per month and an average stipend of ₹45,000 per month.

The campus placements witnessed resounding success, with over 95 percent of students from the flagship B. Tech program securing placements.

NIT Rourkela director Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao, lauded the institute’s success, stating, “NIT Rourkela’s successful 2022-23 placement season is a testament to the bright talent our Institute fosters.”

Prof Bibhuti B Nayak, head of career development centre, NIT Rourkela, described the campus placement drive as an “overwhelming success.”

In terms of the department-wise placements, the Computer Science Department secured an impressive average CTC of ₹21.87 LPA, while Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering achieved an average CTC of ₹18.12 LPA.

The average CTC for Electronics and Communication was ₹17.97 LPA, and the Electrical Department attained an average of ₹14.55 LPA. Furthermore, the Integrated M.Sc course witnessed a substantial increase of 51 percent in offers compared to the previous session.

The software & information technology services sector emerged as the top recruiting sector, constituting 31.1 percent of the total recruitments. TATA Consultancy Services stood out as the leading recruiter in terms of the number of job offers made. Notably, NIT Rourkela also received three international job offers, including offers from the Landmark Group.
