NEW DELHI – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted searches at two locations in Punjab in connection with the targeted killing of Vikas Bagga, a prominent Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader from Nangal, Roopnagar. The murder, which took place on April 13, 2024, was allegedly orchestrated by foreign-based Khalistani terrorists.

The raids, which resulted in the seizure of several digital devices and other incriminating materials, were carried out at premises linked to suspects believed to have facilitated logistics for the accused involved in the murder. This operation follows the recent arrest of Dharminder Kumar, also known as Kunal, who was apprehended by NIA and Delhi Police Special Cell teams in Ludhiana on August 18. Kumar is accused of supplying the illegal arms and ammunition used in the high-profile assassination.
