NEW DELHI – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) intensified its probe into the Tamil Nadu Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) anti-India conspiracy case by conducting extensive searches at the residence of Faizul Rahman, a key accused, in Chennai on Thursday.
The searches led to the seizure of several incriminating materials, including digital devices and documents, which are expected to provide further insights into the conspiracy. Rahman, who the NIA arrested on Tuesday, is alleged to have been actively collaborating with other arrested individuals to promote secessionism and seek military assistance from Pakistan to liberate Kashmir.

According to NIA officials, the conspiracy aimed at establishing Khilafat or Islamic rule by overthrowing the Government of India through violent Jihad. The accused were reportedly involved in secret meetings to propagate the divisive ideology of HuT and had organized multiple campaigns across Tamil Nadu to further their secessionist agenda.
The NIA’s investigation has revealed that the accused were striving to undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India. The agency is continuing its probe under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P) Act).
