Over the years, BP has celebrated PM Modi’s birthday as ‘sewa divas’
NEW DELHI: A new public health campaign will be launched across the country on September 17, which coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The campaign will run for two weeks up to October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.
Ayushman Bhava campaign will be unveiled by President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday.
Ayushman Bhava is a flagship initiative of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It aims to promote health target services and spread awareness about all health schemes. The campaign will be organized at health and wellness centers across the country.

Speaking at a press conference,Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the campaign will focus on early detection and treatment of diseases. He said that 1,17,000 Ayushman Melas will be organized during the campaign, where all the patients will be diagnosed and treated free of cost.
The campaign will also focus on spreading awareness about Ayushman Bharat, the government’s flagship health insurance scheme. Ayushman Bharat provides free health insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakhs per family per year.
Mandaviya said that the Ayushman Bhava campaign will be a major step towards achieving the goal of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). UHC is the goal of ensuring that everyone has access to quality healthcare, regardless of their ability to pay.

He said that the campaign will also help to improve the health of the people, especially those living in rural areas.
Prime Minister Modi will turn 73 on September 17. His last birthday was marked by the release of eight cheetahs into the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh last year.
Born in 1950, in the humble town of Vadnagar, situated in Gujarat’s Mehsana district in North Gujarat, PM Modi’s birthday has been celebrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as ‘Seva Diwas’ (Day of Service) for many years. This celebration involves conducting various welfare activities nationwide for a span of two weeks.
