NEW DELHI: Indian athletics will take a giant leap forward in May 2025 as two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra, in collaboration with JSW Sports, will bring a prestigious Continental Tour Javelin-Only competition to India. Supported by World Athletics and the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), the event promises to feature top male and female javelin throwers, with Chopra leading the charge.
The venue is yet to be finalized, but this event will be the first of its kind on Indian soil, showcasing some of the worldโs best throwers. Chopra expressed his excitement, stating, โBringing a world-class javelin competition to India has always been a dream of mine. With the help of JSW Sports and AFI, weโre making this happen. It will be a moment fans and athletes will remember.โ
Chopra and JSW Sports are looking to establish the event as an annual fixture on the global athletics calendar. Their long-term goal includes expanding the event to feature more track and field disciplines in the future.
