Need to garland 69000 youth who took battle to Allahabad Court: Akhilesh Yadav

During a press conference, Yadav congratulated the 69,000 candidates who have long fought for justice and expressed optimism for their future.

NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing critique of the Uttar Pradesh government, addressing multiple pressing issues, including the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers and the state’s handling of law and order.

During a press conference, Yadav congratulated the 69,000 candidates who have long fought for justice and expressed optimism for their future.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate all the 69,000 students who have been fighting continuously. I thank them for the support they will get in the future, all the children of this country should wear the garland because of their struggle.” he said.

Yadav highlighted the government’s responsibility to act transparently to ensure justice for these candidates.

He criticised the state’s approach to law and order, particularly its claim of “zero tolerance,” noting that many incidents of corruption and violence continue to plague the state.

“It is the responsibility of the government. How much the government will act depends on how transparent it is so that the children get justice,” Yadav said.

He cited an example in Sultanpur, a district near Lucknow, where an engineer was allegedly killed for financial gain. Yadav questioned the government’s failure to protect its citizens and accused it of shielding corrupt officials.

“Can anyone imagine that a payment could kill an engineer? So, imagine how big of a deal corruption is,” he remarked.

Yadav expressed concerns about the state’s law enforcement, suggesting that officials often protect those involved in corrupt activities while silencing dissent.

“If anyone says anything against the government, the officials are informed to target them,” he added.

The SP chief emphasised that the state’s issues stem from BJP rule, suggesting that true justice and liberation for the poor could only be achieved once the party is ousted.

“Until liberation from BJP is achieved, there will be no liberation of the poor,” Yadav stated.

Yadav’s remarks reflect mounting tensions over recruitment controversies and ongoing governance challenges in Uttar Pradesh.
