New Delhi: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has approved multiple initiatives to improve public sanitation and convenience under the Swachh Bharat Mission. These decisions, finalized during a recent council meeting at Palika Kendra, reflect the government’s commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a cleaner, greener India. NDMC plans to upgrade existing public toilet units (PTUs), community toilet units (CTUs), and roll call centers. These will now be operated and maintained through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal explained, “The maintenance contracts are divided into four groups to ensure access to public toilets every 500 meters across our jurisdiction.” ALSO READ: Pushpa 2: Allu Arjun arrested over Sandhya theatre stampede tragedy To further enhance public convenience, two state-of-the-art toilets will be constructed at Khan Market and Sarojini Nagar Market.
