NEW DELHI: Three NDA MPs, including Union Minister Anurag Thakur and BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj, have lodged a police complaint against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging “physical assault and incitement” during a heated altercation in Parliament.

 

The complaint was submitted at the Parliament Street Police Station, where Thakur and Swaraj, accompanied by a TDP MP, accused Gandhi of aggressive behavior during a scuffle earlier in the day. “We have formally filed a complaint against Mr. Rahul Gandhi for physical assault and incitement,” Thakur told reporters outside the police station.

The incident occuArred on the Parliament entry steps during a confrontation between opposition and NDA MPs over alleged remarks against B.R. Ambedkar. The altercation reportedly left former Union Minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi injured.

 

The BJP has alleged that Gandhi physically pushed Sarangi, a charge the Congress leader has denied. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also reported that BJP MP Mukesh Rajput sustained injuries during the melee.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally reached out to Sarangi and Rajput to check on their condition following the incident, according to sources.

 

Police officials confirmed they have received the complaint and are currently investigating the matter.
