NEW DELHI: The Mumbai Police have clarified details surrounding a clash that took place outside the residence of actor Raveena Tandon on Saturday night. The altercation, which stemmed from a minor parking issue, has gained widespread attention after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
According to the police, the confrontation occurred when Tandon’s driver was attempting to reverse the car into a parking spot on Carter Road in Bandra. A family of three believed they were at risk of being hit by the vehicle, which led to an argument.
The situation escalated, and a crowd gathered; pushing and shoveling ensued, with Raveena Tandon seen in the video asking people to calm down and not hit her driver.

The Mumbai Police issued a statement on Sunday explaining that both parties involved later went to the Khar police station but chose not to file any formal complaints. “Tandon’s driver was trying to reverse the car to park it, and three people from a family felt that they would get hit.
After the argument, both parties left, and later, police reached the spot and questioned Tandon’s staff. The other party was also called to the Police station. Both parties denied making any complaints,” the statement read.
An official from the Khar police station confirmed that no First Information Report (FIR) was filed, though a station diary entry was recorded. There were allegations that Raveena Tandon and her driver were intoxicated, which were refuted by the police after reviewing CCTV footage. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajtilak Roshan stated, “We checked the CCTV footage of the society and found that the actress’s driver was reversing the car from the road into society.
The family stopped the car and told the driver to check for people behind the car before reversing, leading to an argument. The actress was not drunk.”

In support of Tandon, actor Kangana Ranaut condemned the behaviour of the family involved, calling for action against such unruly conduct.
“What happened to Raveena Tandon ji is absolutely alarming. Had there been 5–6 more people in the opposite group, she would have been lynched. We condemn such road rage outbursts. Those people must be reprimanded,” Ranaut stated on her Instagram story.
