It was a big day for Reliance Industries (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Neeta Ambani as their youngest son Anant Ambani got engaged to Radhika Merchant.
Radhika is the daughter of Viren Merchant, the CEO and vice president of Encore Healthcare Private Limited.
The engagement ceremony of Anant and Radhika was held in a traditional way at the famous Shrinathji Temple in Rajasthan’s Nathdwara. The temple holds great significance for the Ambani family.
In 2015, Mukesh Ambani visited the temple ahead of the launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited’s 4G services 2015.

Ambani visited the temple and promised to launch 5G services in Rajasthan from the temple. In October this year, Reliance announced the launch of 5G services in Rajasthan from the Shrinathji temple.
Interestingly, Mukesh and Nita Ambani hosted the arangetram ceremony of her soon-to-be daughter-in-law Radhika at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai in June. Arangetram is the culmination of a classical dancer’s formal training.
Anant completed his studies at USA’s Brown University. He had since worked at Reliance Industries in various capacities. He currently leads the all-important energy business of RIL.

Radhika and Anant have known each other for years now
Radhika also studied in the US. She graduated from New York University. She currently serves as a director on the Board of Encore Healthcare.
Radhika has been trained in Bharatnatyam for eight years and is a disciple of Guru Bhavana Thakar of Shree Nibha Arts. She even performed at the sangeet ceremony of Isha Ambani, Anant’s sister.
