NEW DELHI: In a significant development, Pravesh Shukla was apprehended by the Madhya Pradesh Police on Tuesday following the circulation of a disturbing video on social media, allegedly depicting him urinating on a tribal man. The authorities wasted no time in invoking the National Security Act (NSA) against him, underlining the gravity of the offense.
Late last night, the police successfully apprehended Shukla and he is currently under interrogation. The authorities have not taken the matter lightly and have invoked the National Security Act (NSA) against him, signifying the seriousness of the offense. Additionally, charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including obscene acts and intentional insult, along with the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, have been registered against the accused.

The video, which dates back approximately three months, caught the attention of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who promptly directed the administration to take strict action. He further emphasized the need to invoke the NSA against the offender. The incident has drawn condemnation from various quarters, with the Congress alleging that Shukla is associated with the BJP’s Sidhi MLA Kedarnath Shukla, a claim denied by both the party and the MLA.

BSP supremo Mayawati expressed her concern and demanded stringent action against the criminal. She urged the Madhya Pradesh BJP government to go beyond NSA and seize or demolish his property, emphasizing the importance of not shielding the criminal due to political affiliations. Such acts of misconduct bring shame to society as a whole.
