Mother appeals for son’s safety; grandfather questioned in Pune porsche crash

NEW DELHI:A 17-year-old boy’s involvement in a fatal Porsche crash in Pune has taken a new turn as his mother appeals to the police for protection following viral videos allegedly featuring him. The teen’s father, Vishal Agrawal, a prominent real estate developer, was apprehended after an attempt to evade authorities, involving multiple vehicles and strategies.

The incident, which claimed the lives of two 24-year-old IT engineers, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, sparked controversy over the swift bail granted to the teenage driver by the Juvenile Justice Board. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized the gravity of the situation, vowing to make a watertight case against the accused.

Police have also questioned the teen’s grandfather, one of the owners of the realty firm that owned the Porsche car, and a friend to verify the sequence of events. According to police, the teen desired to drive the powerful car, prompting his father to allow it. The father’s phone has been seized for verification.

Recent developments include the cancellation of the teen’s bail and his remand to an observation home, along with the arrest of his father for allowing him to drive without a license. Additionally, the owners of the bars where the teen allegedly consumed alcohol were arrested.

Technical investigations have progressed, with the examination of the car, including GPS and camera data, to reconstruct the route taken on the night of the accident. The police are collecting CCTV footage from various locations to gather evidence.

The mother’s plea for her son’s protection comes amidst viral videos allegedly featuring him boasting about escaping the accident. However, Pune police clarified that these videos were fake and that the teenager had no involvement in them.
