NEW DELHI: In a scathing attack on the Telangana government led by Chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Prime Minister Narendra Modi labelled it as the โmost corrupt regimeโ in the country.
Speaking at a BJP public meeting in Warangal, PM Modi alleged that every project in Telangana is marred by allegations of corruption.
Referring to the alleged involvement of BRS MLC K Kavitha in the Delhi Excise policy scam, the Prime Minister claimed that corruption under the KCR government has even reached Delhi.
โKCR government is the most corrupt. So corrupt that it has even spread to Delhi. In the past, we used to hear about developmental agreements between states. But now, the two governments have agreed to indulge in corruption,โ PM Modi said.
He criticised the partnership between the two governments, stating, โIn the past, we used to hear about developmental agreements between states. But now, the two governments have agreed to indulge in corruption.โ
Expressing confidence in the BJPโs victory in the upcoming state elections later this year, PM Modi accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government of focusing on four destructive aspects, โAbusing Modi and the centre, asserting dynastic rule, destroying Telanganaโs economic progress, and drowning the state in corruptionโ.
PM Modi cautioned the people of Telangana against supporting both the TRS and the Congress, highlighting their history of neglecting peopleโs aspirations. He declared, โThe foundation of all these dynastic parties has its roots in corruption. The whole country witnessed the corruption of the dynastic Congress party, and now the whole of Telangana is witnessing the level of corruption under the TRS governmentโฆboth TRS and Congress are dangerous for the people of Telangana.โ
Addressing the issue of the TSPSC paper leak controversy, the Prime Minister criticised the Telangana government for using government jobs to benefit its leaders instead of addressing the aspirations of the stateโs youth.
PM Modi acknowledged Telanganaโs role in the BJPโs growth and highlighted the stateโs contribution to the partyโs success. He mentioned the significant investment in Telanganaโs National Highway projects, totalling โน36,000 crores, and the increased allocation of funds for the state in the railway budget.
