NEW DELHI: In a scathing attack on the Telangana government led by Chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Prime Minister Narendra Modi labelled it as the “most corrupt regime” in the country.

Speaking at a BJP public meeting in Warangal, PM Modi alleged that every project in Telangana is marred by allegations of corruption.

Referring to the alleged involvement of BRS MLC K Kavitha in the Delhi Excise policy scam, the Prime Minister claimed that corruption under the KCR government has even reached Delhi.

“KCR government is the most corrupt. So corrupt that it has even spread to Delhi. In the past, we used to hear about developmental agreements between states. But now, the two governments have agreed to indulge in corruption,” PM Modi said.

He criticised the partnership between the two governments, stating, “In the past, we used to hear about developmental agreements between states. But now, the two governments have agreed to indulge in corruption.”

Expressing confidence in the BJP’s victory in the upcoming state elections later this year, PM Modi accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government of focusing on four destructive aspects, “Abusing Modi and the centre, asserting dynastic rule, destroying Telangana’s economic progress, and drowning the state in corruption”.

PM Modi cautioned the people of Telangana against supporting both the TRS and the Congress, highlighting their history of neglecting people’s aspirations. He declared, “The foundation of all these dynastic parties has its roots in corruption. The whole country witnessed the corruption of the dynastic Congress party, and now the whole of Telangana is witnessing the level of corruption under the TRS government…both TRS and Congress are dangerous for the people of Telangana.”

Addressing the issue of the TSPSC paper leak controversy, the Prime Minister criticised the Telangana government for using government jobs to benefit its leaders instead of addressing the aspirations of the state’s youth.

PM Modi acknowledged Telangana’s role in the BJP’s growth and highlighted the state’s contribution to the party’s success. He mentioned the significant investment in Telangana’s National Highway projects, totalling ₹36,000 crores, and the increased allocation of funds for the state in the railway budget.
