NEW DELHI: Union minister of state for external affairs & parliamentary affairs, V Muraleedharan, has expressed his excitement about the new Parliament building, calling it a “depiction of the developed India” that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned.

“I look forward to going to the new building which will be the depiction of the developed India which the Prime Minister mentioned while he inaugurated the new building,” Muraleedharan told The New Indian.

The minister reminisced about his 25-year association with the old Parliament building, but said he is eager to start a new journey in the new building.

“My association with this building as a Member of Parliament was for the last five years and a little more. But before that, as a BJP worker from Kerala, I have been coming to this House,” he said.

“Even during the period of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, I have sat in the Officer’s Gallery as I was the Director General of Nehru Yuva Kendra. So, my experience and my association with this building is for almost 25 years.”

Muraleedharan also highlighted the various bills and laws passed by the Modi government in the past years in the old Parliament building.

“As Member of Parliament, I had the opportunity to be part of the historic passing of the repeal of Article 370, the triple Collapse Bill, the EWS Bill, so many historic occasions, many historic legislations,” he said.

“So definitely this building is connected with history, connected with India’s independence,” he added, calling the decisions taken by the BJP government in the old building of Parliament “historic.”

Without speaking much on the Women’s Reservation Bill, Muraleedharan said that the day it is tabled will be “historic.”

The new Parliament building, which is located in Central Vista, is a symbol of India’s new ambition and aspirations. It is a state-of-the-art building that showcases India’s rich cultural heritage and modern amenities. The building is also designed to be environmentally friendly and sustainable.

The new Parliament building is a testament to India’s progress and development. It is a symbol of a new India that is confident, assertive, and global.
