NEW DELHI: Union minister of state for external affairs & parliamentary affairs, V Muraleedharan, has expressed his excitement about the new Parliament building, calling it a โ€œdepiction of the developed Indiaโ€ that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned.

โ€œI look forward to going to the new building which will be the depiction of the developed India which the Prime Minister mentioned while he inaugurated the new building,โ€ Muraleedharan told The New Indian.

The minister reminisced about his 25-year association with the old Parliament building, but said he is eager to start a new journey in the new building.

โ€œMy association with this building as a Member of Parliament was for the last five years and a little more. But before that, as a BJP worker from Kerala, I have been coming to this House,โ€ he said.

โ€œEven during the period of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, I have sat in the Officerโ€™s Gallery as I was the Director General of Nehru Yuva Kendra. So, my experience and my association with this building is for almost 25 years.โ€

Muraleedharan also highlighted the various bills and laws passed by the Modi government in the past years in the old Parliament building.

โ€œAs Member of Parliament, I had the opportunity to be part of the historic passing of the repeal of Article 370, the triple Collapse Bill, the EWS Bill, so many historic occasions, many historic legislations,โ€ he said.

โ€œSo definitely this building is connected with history, connected with Indiaโ€™s independence,โ€ he added, calling the decisions taken by the BJP government in the old building of Parliament โ€œhistoric.โ€

Without speaking much on the Womenโ€™s Reservation Bill, Muraleedharan said that the day it is tabled will be โ€œhistoric.โ€

The new Parliament building, which is located in Central Vista, is a symbol of Indiaโ€™s new ambition and aspirations. It is a state-of-the-art building that showcases Indiaโ€™s rich cultural heritage and modern amenities. The building is also designed to be environmentally friendly and sustainable.

The new Parliament building is a testament to Indiaโ€™s progress and development. It is a symbol of a new India that is confident, assertive, and global.
