The BJP’s tally in the recent Lok Sabha elections fell to 240 seats, below the majority mark of 272. This reliance on allies like TDP and JDU, with 16 and 12 seats respectively, has elevated their roles in the new cabinet. TDP leaders Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu are likely to secure positions, as announced by party leader Jay Galla.

Security has been tightened for the swearing-in ceremony, with five companies of paramilitary forces deployed at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Leaders from neighboring countries, including Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and others, are expected to attend.

Narendra Modi will be sworn in for a third consecutive term, equalling Jawaharlal Nehru’s record. The NDA unanimously elected Modi as their leader on June 5, marking a significant moment in Indian political history.
