NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed contracts worth ₹697.35 crore with ACE Limited and JCB India Limited for the procurement of 1,868 Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks (RTFLT).

The contracts were finalized in the presence of Defence Secretary R.K. Singh and it will cater to the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy.
The RTFLT is a crucial asset for military logistics, designed to facilitate combat and operational support by minimizing manual handling of heavy loads. These forklifts will enhance supply chain operations, allowing for faster and more efficient movement of equipment and materials within the armed forces. Their deployment is expected to significantly improve strategic mobility in challenging terrains.

The procurement falls under the “Buy (Indian)” category, reinforcing the government’s commitment to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. This acquisition is a part of India’s broader strategy to modernize defence infrastructure.
