“People of Meghalaya have suffered at the hands of Congress for several years. Congress rule has resulted in high corruption, dynasty politics and slow growth. Even in the last five years, while a lot has been done, a lot needs to be done. Modi is the only person who can empower Meghalaya”
Conrad Kongkal Sangma is the current Chief Minister of Meghalaya. The BJP is a minority coalition partner with Sangam’s National People’s Party (NPP). In 2018, it won 2 seats security 9.6 per cent of the votes cast.
Nagaland-Assam border issue features as a major poll issue. “The border issues are long pending and it can be solved only by a strong government that will facilitate negotiations with other states and the Centre,” Sinha said.
