NEW DELHI: The Doda district administration has issued an urgent advisory urging residents to wear masks due to massive forest fires blanketing the Bhaderwah Valley with thick smoke. Prolonged dry weather conditions over the past month have triggered frequent forest fires which cause widespread panic and serious health concerns among residents.
Doda Additional Deputy Commissioner stated, “It is the peak of the dry season, and there has been no rainfall. Our forests and fields have become completely dry, and there is a constant risk of fires in the forests, which are actually occurring.
