DEHRADUN: After a video of mass hysteria among the students of class 8 in a junior high school in Rekhauli of Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand went viral, a team from the state health department visited the school on Thursday to assess the situation.
Officials from the state health department said that the students are stable and their health is being monitored.
Students can be seen in the state of ‘oblivion’ and crying hysterically. Many of the students fainted too following which panic spread in the school.
Teachers contacted the parents and guardians and sent the students to their homes immediately.
Interestingly, such cases have earlier been reported from the districts of Chamoli, Almora and Pithoragarh.
