Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the 100th episode of his radio show ‘Mann Ki Baat’ by calling it a spiritual journey that has allowed him to connect with people.
Through the program, PM Modi speaks to the public about a range of topics, from cultural preservation to education to entrepreneurship.
PM Modi praised the show’s ability to turn issues into people’s movements, citing examples such as the “Vocal for Local” and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” campaigns.
Recalling his iconic show’s previous episodes, PM Modi highlighted selfless attempts to provide education to underprivileged children, including a tea stall owner in Odisha who made it his mission to educate economically backward children and an entrepreneur from Jammu and Kashmir who operated a mobile library in Jharkhand.
The 100th episode of the show also featured people from across the country whose initiatives and businesses had been featured on the show.
The invitees include, Sunil Jaglan of Haryana, who started the ‘Selfie with Daughter’ campaign and Vijayashanti from Manipur, who runs a lotus stem fibre business. PM Modi also spoke about Pencil Slates of Jammu and Kashmir while talking to Manzoor Ahmed. He also spoke with Pradeep Sangwan, who is working selflessly for the protection and preservation of the Himalayas.
The episode also featured UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, who discussed her organisation’s commitment to ensuring access to education for all by 2030. She was also curious to know how India, as the world’s most populous country, plans to make education and cultural preservation the biggest priorities on an international scale.
PM Modi emphasised the show’s focus on cultural preservation, calling it his favourite topic. He expressed his belief that the biggest change can be made possible through collective effort.
He also hoped that Mann Ki Baat would become a new tradition in the country.
