Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for early next year. The list features several prominent names and notable changes, reflecting the party’s strategic approach to retain its stronghold in the national capital.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, currently representing Patparganj, will contest from the Jangpura constituency. Patparganj, a well-established AAP stronghold, will now see educator-turned-politician Avadh Ojha as the party’s candidate. Ojha recently joined AAP, making his debut in electoral politics.

In a surprising move, the party has chosen youth leader Adil Ahmed Khan for the Mustafabad constituency, replacing the incumbent MLA Haji Yunus. This decision highlights AAP’s focus on bringing fresh faces into the electoral fray.
The list also includes Jintender Singh Shunty for the Shahdara seat and Surinder Pal Singh Bittu for Timarpur. Both are recent BJP defectors, indicating AAP’s efforts to broaden its appeal. Shunty replaces outgoing Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, while Bittu succeeds chief whip Dilip Pandey.
