NEW DELHI: Manchester City recently wrapped up an exciting visit to Delhi, which featured a range of community events and activations across the capital. Fans had the unique opportunity to engage with Manchester City legend Shaun Wright-Phillips and take pictures with the Premier League, Club World Cup, and Community Shield trophies.
As part of the ‘Champions 4-in-a-row’ Trophy Tour, the club hosted a special coaching day in Delhi. The event brought together local coaches and volunteers to experience Manchester City’s coaching methodologies. Through interactive workshops and football drills, the activities focused on adaptability and community-based coaching techniques, encouraging cross-learning among participants.

Shaun Wright-Phillips also visited the community at Sultanpuri, where Manchester City and Etihad Airways have teamed up with the Magic Bus India Foundation to launch the “Healthy Heroes” project. This initiative aims to use the power of sports to equip adolescents from underprivileged backgrounds with essential life skills, helping them complete their education and pursue future aspirations. The visit concluded with a special interaction involving members of the Official Supporters Club (OSC), with representatives from 20 different OSC chapters across India.
The Delhi leg of the Trophy Tour concluded with a fan event at Vegas Mall, where supporters had the chance to take photos with the trophies, engage with the club’s “boot room experience,” and participate in football drills with Manchester City coaches. Fans then gathered in the mall’s atrium to watch a thrilling 2-2 draw between Manchester City and Arsenal.
