He said, “The length of Lord Shri Ram’s idol and the height of its installation have been designed in such a way on the advice of eminent space scientists of India that every year on Ram Navami, the ninth date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, Lord Surya himself will anoint Shri Ram as sunrays will directly fall on his forehead at 12 noon making it shine.”
The meticulous selection process involved three sculptors crafting separate idols, with the final chosen idol embodying the essence and inspiration of Lord Ram. Rai elaborated on the idol’s composition, fashioned from dark-coloured stone, combining the divinity of Lord Vishnu, the regal radiance of a royal heir, and the purity of a 5-year-old child.
Careful attention was given to the delicate facial features, the captivating gaze, warm smile, and overall demeanour. The head, crown, and aura were meticulously crafted to accentuate the statue’s 51-inch height.

Rai disclosed the forthcoming consecration ritual, scheduled to commence on January 16, culminating in Lord Ram’s installation on January 18 within the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.
Highlighting the idol’s unique properties, Rai assured that water and milk would not adversely affect the stone, and their consumption would pose no harm to individuals. He also unveiled plans for the construction of temples honouring revered figures within the Ram temple complex, emphasising the architectural inspiration drawn from South Indian temples.
Revealing the durability measures undertaken, Rai explained that despite the stone’s age of 1,000 years, the use of granite beneath the idol prevents moisture absorption, ensuring longevity against the elements. Iron in the construction was not used to avoid weakening.

“It has been designed in such a way that as the age increases, a very strong rock will be formed under the ground. No type of concrete has been used above ground, because the age of concrete does not exceed 150 years. Age has been considered while doing every work”, he informed.
Champat Rai expressed a personal sentiment toward January 22, likening its importance to August 15, 1947, urging devotees nationwide to celebrate this day with puja in temples. Additionally, he invited devotees to visit the temple after January 26, assuring round-the-clock access for darshan until all visitors have had the opportunity.
