KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) Krishnanagar MP Mahua Moitra in her latest statement asserted that the reality is unmistakably evident. The lawmaker conveys that the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) maintained a metaphorical form of control or influence.
“The PMO held a proverbial gun to Darshan and his father’s heads and gave them 20 minutes to sign this letter sent to them. They were threatened with a total shutdown of all their businesses.” Moitra mentioned in her statement on the microblogging site X.

Moitra also expressed that whoever is close to her has been threatened with an “ED and CBI raid in the next few days.”
“This is part of the establishment’s witch hunt into every political leader who dares question Adani. This is the price to pay for standing up to the BJP and Adani. But they cannot scare me.
“I will continue to stand up to Mr. Adani until he answers the many questions that he’s duty bound to answer to the people of this great country. And I will pay any price to protect my country from these criminals,” Moitra wrote.
On the other hand, the TMC decided to adopt a “wait and watch” approach in response to the intense allegations made by their party’s parliamentarian, Moitra, and the BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.

The political storm commenced after BJP’s Nishikant Dubey levied charges against Moitra that she provided Darshan Hiranandani and the Hiranandani Conglomerate with access to her Lok Sabha website login credentials for personal gain.
He considers this allegation to be the most serious of all the charges against her. Further Dubey even sought ‘immediate suspension’ for Krishnanagar MP from the House based on his accusations.
He said that if these allegations are found to be accurate, it would constitute a serious breach of trust and a violation of India’s national security. This is because it granted unauthorised people access to government websites that may contain classified information.

Moitra, on the other hand, countered Dubey firstly via her posts on X and then by slapping him with a legal notice. Her social media post read, “Am using all my ill-gotten cash and gifts to buy a college/university in which Degree Dubey can finally buy a real degree. Please Om Birla finish the enquiries against him for false affidavits and then set up my enquiry committee.”
