NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has commenced the Class 12 board examinations for over 15 lakh students, including 8,10,348 boys, 6,94,652 girls, and 37 transgender students.
To ensure a smooth and fair examination process, the board has implemented strict security measures across all centres.
Flying squads have been deployed, and Section 144 has been imposed around exam centres to prevent large gatherings and possible malpractices.
Authorities have introduced a facial recognition system to verify the identity of staff members involved in conducting the exams, while all personnel have been issued official identity cards.
The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company has been instructed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to the exam centres. At the same time, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has been asked to maintain regular and timely bus and train services for students.
To curb cheating, all photocopying (Xerox) centres within 500 meters of examination centres will remain closed on exam days. Sensitive exam centres are being closely monitored using drone cameras, and district officials will conduct surprise visits to ensure strict adherence to examination rules.
Additionally, video recording will be done outside exam centres to keep a close watch on activities in the surrounding areas.
The Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices Act 1982 has been enforced, and anyone found indulging in or assisting in exam-related misconduct will face strict legal action.
The board has also reminded officials to be vigilant and ensure that no students are denied entry to the examination centres, a concern that was raised during the pandemic.
These measures reflect the boardโs commitment to maintaining a fair and disciplined examination process for all students.
