Since his first victory in Nagpur South West in 2009, Fadnavis has solidified his position as a formidable political figure in the region. In the 2019 elections, he secured a decisive victory with a margin exceeding 49,000 votes, largely attributed to his focus on urban infrastructure and welfare initiatives. These projects, including enhanced transport networks and public amenities, have been pivotal in shaping his governance narrative.

Nagpur district, where voting occurred in a single phase, includes other key constituencies such as Katol, Savner, Hingna, Umred, Nagpur South, Nagpur East, Nagpur Central, Nagpur West, Nagpur North, Kamthi, and Ramtek. Alongside Nagpur, the state witnessed a fierce contest between the ruling Mahayuti alliance comprising BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) and the opposition MVA.
