NEW DELHI: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has sharply criticized the Modi government, accusing it of sidelining the elected state government during development projects. Mann cited a recent incident where the people of Punjab and their government were reportedly excluded from the inauguration of railway station upgrades, condemning it as a politicized move that undermines the interests of the country and disrespects the mandate of the three crore people who elected their government.
Accusing the top leadership of being embroiled in a โcredit war,โ Mann expressed frustration with what he termed as the Modi governmentโs โanti-Punjab syndrome,โ which he believes is hindering the stateโs welfare. He criticized the Union government for allegedly stalling funds under RDF and NHM, claiming that more than Rs 8000 crore worth of funds have been unfairly blocked, resulting in grave injustice to the state.
