NEW DELHI: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar has reached a crucial seat-sharing agreement ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The alliance, comprising various political parties, has allocated seats as follows:

This announcement comes after extensive discussions among the alliance members and is aimed at optimizing electoral prospects in the state. The BJP, a prominent member of the NDA, will contest 17 out of the total 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. The party’s electoral battleground includes constituencies such as West Champaran, East Champaran, Aurangabad, Madhubani, and others.

The JD(U), led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, will field candidates in 16 constituencies, strategically selected to maximize the alliance’s representation across diverse regions. The LJP, led by Chirag Paswan, has secured five seats for the upcoming elections, including Hajipur, from where Chirag himself will contest, signaling its continued partnership within the NDA alliance.

Additionally, Jitan Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha will contest one seat each in one constituency, contributing to the alliance’s comprehensive electoral strategy. As Bihar gears up for yet another electoral showdown, the NDA’s seat-sharing agreement sets the stage for a spirited contest, with each constituent party poised to vigorously campaign for victory in their respective constituencies.

In the previous Lok Sabha elections, the NDA emerged victorious in Bihar, securing a significant majority of seats. With the allocation of seats finalized, the alliance aims to build upon its past success and further consolidate its position in the state’s political landscape. Nitish’s decision to rejoin NDA and form a new government in Bihar came as a big boost to the BJP, which was left isolated after the JD(U) chief had formed the Grand Alliance with Congress, RJD and other parties.

The announcement of seat-sharing comes amidst growing anticipation and preparations for the upcoming elections, which will play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of Bihar’s political landscape.
