Let KGF Be Our Mantra: Piyush Goyal Says Investors Looking At Karnataka

The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, has lauded Karnataka as a state where “wiser people look to invest”.

The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, has lauded Karnataka as a state where “wiser people look to invest”.

The Minister said that Karnataka offers skills, technology and ease of doing business while delivering his keynote address at the Global Investors’ Meet “Invest Karnataka 2022” which began in Bengaluru today. He added, “Let KGF (Karnataka, Growth and Future) be our mantra.”

The Union Minister lauded Karnataka for offering incentives and innovation, an equitable growth focus, a resilient ecosystem, wisdom and a talent pool. He also explained why Karnataka is the right place to invest.

“In almost all rankings among states, Karnataka is performing exceedingly well. A real destination to be in, invest in, make in and serve from,” Goyal said.

The Union minister recalled that his US counterpart Katherine Tai, who is scheduled to visit India next year for a commercial dialogue, expressed very serious interest in coming to Bengaluru to experience Karnataka.

Earlier, Prime minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the three-day Global Investor’s Meet being held at the Bangalore Palace in Bengaluru. The summit is aimed at attracting prospective investors and setting up a development agenda for the next decade. The programme will have more than 80 speaker sessions. Top industry leaders, including Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sajjan Jindal and Vikram Kirloskar, are participating.

Karnataka Governor Thaawat Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai and Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Prahlad Joshi Karnataka Minister for Large & Medium Scale Industries Dr Murugesh Nirani and the State Ministers N Nagaraj and Dr C Ashwath Narayana were among those present.

Several business exhibitions with more than three hundred exhibitors and country sessions will run in parallel. The country sessions would be hosted by partner countries like France, Germany, Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, and Australia. The global scale of the event will allow Karnataka to showcase its culture to the world. ‘Build for the World’ is the theme of the Meet.
