Laxmi-Ganesh On Notes: Bagga, Mishra Call AAPians Jihadis, Proposal Chunaavi Jumla

Soon after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the Centre to print images of deities Ganesh-Laxmi on currency notes, BJP leaders Kapil Mishra and Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga on Wednesday hit back at him, calling him “Aurangzeb’ and ‘jihadi’.

Mishra, a former leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said that the proposal of his former boss was influenced by upcoming elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

Kejriwal, whose Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is eying to gain big in upcoming elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, appealed to the BJP-ruled Central government to print pictures of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi on the Indian currency notes, which, he said, will help in boosting the deteriorating economy.

Reacting to the chief minister’s appeal, Mishra said: “Sons of Aurangzeb now remember Ganesh-Laxmi. Jihadists now have Hindu gods and goddesses in their hearts because elections are around the corner.”

In a video message, he alluded that Kejriwal’s appeal was a result of the AAP’s desperate attempts to make inroads in poll-bound states in face of the huge popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Bagga, who is the national secretary of BJP’s youth wing, claimed that Kejriwal was making a desperate attempt to get rid of his “Aurangzeb” image.

“After Aurangzeb, Kejriwal is the second ruler who put a ban on crackers. His anti-Hindu face is exposed. He sent Hindu kids to jail for bursting crackers. Now just to break his ‘Aurangzeb’ image Arvind Kejriwal is trying to become a Hindu,” the BJP leader charged.

Earlier, addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said:  “My appeal to the Central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is that on one side of the currency Gandhi ji’s picture should continue to stay. But on the other side, Ganesh ji and Laxmi ji’s photos should be printed.”

He said that only bringing in measures to improve the economy may not be enough and the blessings of Gods and Goddesses were necessary for the overall prosperity and economic well-being of the country.

“We need to make many efforts to improve the economic condition of the country. At the same time, we also need the blessings of Gods and Goddesses. Laxmi ji is considered to be the Goddess of prosperity and Ganesh ji removes all disruptions from our path,” the AAP chief said.

He also said the national currency of Indonesia, a Muslim-dominated country, carries the pictures of Ganesh and Laxmi Ji. “Then why not India,” he asked.

He also added that the government can start printing the pictures of deities on the new notes which will go for printing next month.
