Lakhimpur Kheri: Ajay Mishra’s Son Tests +ve For Dengue; Shifted To Hosp After Sugar Level Drops

LAKHIMPUR KHERI: Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, who was arrested in connection with Lakhimpur Kheri violence case has been tested for dengue following which he has been shifted to a government hospital.

Ashish was arrested by the SIT after questioning him for several hours on October 9. He was sent to judicial custody by a court.

He was brought to police custody. However, he tested positive for dengue in the police custody following which he was sent to the jail. The jail authorities then shifted him to a government hospital. A senior official said that Ashish tested positive for dengue and also has changes in his diabetes level.

He said that his samples will be sent to Lucknow and till then for better treatment has been shifted to a government hospital under observation.

The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested several people in connection with the case.The police last week also arrested several supporters and close aides of Ashish, who have been absconding since October 3.

On October 3, four farmers and a journalist were mowed by a speeding vehicle, including that of one owned by Mishra.The farmers were carrying out protest against the MoS against the three farm laws when the horrific incident took place.

Three BJP workers were also allegedly killed by the agitated farmers on the same day.

Following the mowing of farmers, several opposition party leaders including Congress General secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav have protested against the Mishras and demanded removal of the MoS.

A delegation of Congress-led by Rahul Gandhi also met President Ram Nath Kovind demanding removal of Ajay Mishra Teni as MoS to ensure fair probe. The Congress delegation also demanded that 2 sitting judges of the Supreme Court to monitor the probe.
