โIโve been playing polo for more than 35 years now,โ the MP shared in an interview with Executive Editor of The New Indian Rohan Dua. โI love horses, and my fascination began when I watched my father ride. After he finished, I would sit on the horse and eventually joined a riding club. One day, a friend encouraged me to try hitting a few balls, and thatโs when I got hooked.โ
For him, polo is not just a sport but a way of life. โThis sport keeps me going. I have to stay fit because horses donโt care whether youโre an MP or a company chairman; they only respect a fit rider,โ he emphasized. โAnd when it comes to the ball, it listens only to those who work hard with it. The harder you work, the luckier you get,โ he added with a smile.
Balancing Passions with Family Life
His wife, Shallu Jindal, is a passionate Kuchipudi dancer who practices the classical dance form almost daily. โItโs easy for us to maintain our hobbies because we love what we do,โ he explained. โWhen youโre passionate about something, itโs not an effort โ itโs a joy.โ
Their son, Venky (Venkatesh Jindal), is also following in his fatherโs footsteps. โI used to do shooting and polo, but Venky doesnโt like shooting. However, he loves polo, and Iโm proud to see him carry forward that passion,โ the MP shared.
His electoral victory from Kurukshetra remains a source of pride. โWe are fortunate to have been given this opportunity to serve. When God gives you an opportunity, you must make the most of it by doing good work,โ he remarked.
Recognition and Gratitude
The MP also fondly remembered taking his mother to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J.P. Nadda. โThe recognition my mother received was not just for her but for all that our family has strived for,โ he said proudly.
With a unique blend of political dedication, sporting excellence, and family values, the MP continues to inspire many with his unwavering spirit and commitment to a healthier, fitter, and stronger India.
