In the promotional video, Karan Johar interacts with his inner voice, playfully named as ‘Kconscience.’ Kconscience critiques the previous season for being dull and containing uninspiring discussions, describing it as ‘thanda’ (lacklustre).
NEW DELHI: Karan Johar is making a much-anticipated return with the eighth season of ‘Koffee With Karan,’ and his latest video indicates that he has considered all the negative comments and trolling while creating the promotional content. In the ‘Koffee With Karan (KWK)’ promo, Karan can be seen wearing a pink sweatshirt, calmly sipping his coffee, when suddenly his inner voice interrogates him about the upcoming chat show, scheduled to return on October 26.
In the promo, Karan Johar encounters his conscience, cleverly referred to as ‘Kconscience.’ Kconscience criticises the previous season for being lacklustre and featuring uninteresting conversations, labelling it as ‘thanda’ (cold). The real Karan then expresses his surprise and humorously asks if someone has tampered with his coffee. In response, Kconscience suggests that perhaps a fresh perspective has been added to his coffee this time around.

Continuing to jest at him, Kconscience playfully suggests that Karan could have aptly renamed his show to ‘Cold Koffee With Karan’ and questions the humour behind his jokes involving young people from privileged backgrounds, often referred to as “nepo babies.” Adding to the mockery, Kconscience remarks that all the episodes seemed quite similar and criticises the idea of a 50-year-old host inquiring about the sex lives of 20-year-olds, humorously suggesting, “Is it because you don’t have a sex life of your own?”
Once Karan acknowledges that there’s room for improvement, Kconscience playfully remarks that he appeared preoccupied with promoting eyeglasses and hair dyes, alluding to his endorsements for brands like Lenskart. An energised Karan then stands up and enthusiastically announces that he intends to invite recently married couples and cricketers to the show, emphasising that he won’t focus on star kids but rather on the offspring of famous celebrities, ushering in a fresh approach.

Posting the promo on Instagram, Karan penned a caption that humorously acknowledged his own inner critic: “Turns out, my own Konscience wants to troll me too! But screw what he thinks, I’m still brewing Season 8! Hotstar Specials Koffee With Karan season 8 – streams from 26th October only on @disneyplushotstar!”
