NEW DELHI: The summer time in India is at its peak where it becomes mandatory to take care of yourself and your body. Here are a few well-known ways to protect your skin from sun damage and prevent from harmful UV rays.

Sunscreen is said to be most essential part of skin care routine, but people often forget to reapply it. It is essential to apply sunscreen especially at the exposed areas of your body and then re-apply it at an interval of every two hours. It protects from harmful UV rays, skin cancer, sun damage and tanning. One should wear sunscreen even on cloudy days when sun is absent, but UV rays are still present.

Wearing a hat or a cap provides you a double protection sheet and prevents the direct contact from sun rays. It is easy and should be made mandatory before you step out during the daytime.

Now, since we all remember to protect different body parts from the sun but ignore our precious eyes, wearing good sunglasses with UV protection is crucial as sun rays also affect our eyes.

During summers wearing breezy and light clothes is a priority but, we often mistakenly wear exposed clothes due to scorching heat but that is where we go wrong, while stepping out in sun our body should be fully covered up as this layer is the first step to protect us from the sun.

Vitamin C is an amazing antioxidant that protects us from the sun damage, it prevents fine lines and wrinkles and delays ageing.

One of the most crucial parts is being hydrated, it is really important in all months, but summer makes it extra important as the chances of dehydration increases due to scorching heat and losing body fluids.
