Kho Kho Federation of India unveils trophies, mascots for inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025.
NEW DELHI: The Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) unveiled the prestigious trophies and mascots for the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025 at an event held on January 3 at The Imperial Hotel in New Delhi.
The tournament, set to take place from January 13-19, 2025, will feature 21 men’s and 20 women’s teams from 24 countries. This marks a historic moment for the sport, as it prepares to take center stage on the global platform.
Held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, the World Cup promises to showcase the best in international Kho Kho. Each championship will have its own meticulously designed trophy.

The blue trophy for the men’s event symbolizes trust, determination, and universal appeal. The green trophy for the women’s event represents growth and vitality. Both trophies feature flowing curves and intricate crystal detailing, emphasizing the sport’s precision and excellence.
In addition to the trophies, the KKFI introduced ‘Tejas’ and ‘Tara,’ the tournament’s official mascots. Representing speed, agility, and teamwork, the dynamic duo of gazelles is designed to capture the essence of the sport.
Tejas symbolizes brilliance and energy, while Tara represents guidance and aspiration. Both mascots are adorned in vibrant blue and orange sporting attire, showcasing the rich heritage and modern appeal of Kho Kho.

The event also brought together an impressive roster of partners. EaseMyTrip has been named the execution partner for travel logistics, ensuring seamless coordination for participants.
Star Sports Network and Doordarshan will serve as the TV broadcast partners, while Disney+ Hotstar will stream the tournament online.
Other key partners include GMR Sports as the silver sponsor and District by Zomato for ticketing services. Shiv Naresh will provide kits for participants, and ceremonial dress partners include Blackberry and Tata Taneira.
Adding a cultural dimension, Nayan Naveli Gallery will serve as the contemporary art partner. Grant Thornton and Deloitte will support the event as the strategic sports development partner and knowledge partner, respectively.
Sudhanshu Mittal, President of the KKFI, expressed gratitude to the stakeholders. He highlighted the importance of the event, stating, “This World Cup is the first step towards making Kho Kho an Olympic sport. With the support of our partners, we aim to showcase the beauty and excitement of Kho Kho to the world.”
