NEW DELHI: At a grand felicitation event held at The Park Hotel, Delhi, Raksha Kadse, Minister of State (MOS) for Youth Affairs and Sports, celebrated the achievements of the Indian menโs and womenโs Kho Kho team captains, Prateek Waiker and Priyanka Ingle.
The event followed Indiaโs historic victory at the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup, a moment that has brought immense pride to the nation.
Kadse praised the teams for their success and emphasized the gameโs deep cultural roots, calling it โour game, Maharashtraโs game.โ She also expressed her belief that any world-level event associated with Kho Kho should be hosted in Maharashtra.

Responding to her remarks, Kho Kho Federation of India President Sudhanshu Mittal proposed the idea of organizing a World Kho Kho Championship in Maharashtra.
The suggestion received enthusiastic applause from the attendees, signaling strong support for elevating the sport to new international heights.
Both captains took the stage to express their gratitude for the recognition.

Prateek Waiker thanked the Ministry for acknowledging their efforts and fostering the development of the sport in the country.
Priyanka Ingle, in a heartfelt speech, said, โI am very happy we have got this recognition. Iโve been playing for a decent amount of time, but this sort of support is very new to me.โ
She added with a smile, โIโve also gained a huge amount of followers on social media,โ drawing lighthearted laughter from the audience.
The event marked a pivotal moment for Kho Kho as stakeholders came together to discuss its future.
