THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a step further to revolutionise the startup ecosystem in Kerala, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has launched ‘LEAP Coworks’, a pioneering initiative by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) to provide co-working space to industry incubators.

CM Vijayan has also launched LEAP Coworks membership card and unveiled the refurbished headquarters of KSUM in Thiruvananthapuram.

LEAP Coworks, which stands for Launch, Empower, Accelerate, and Prosper, aims to provide further impetus to innovation and collaboration for a successful startup ecosystem.

“We are planning to extend the coworking spaces to all districts across the state. As of now, we have opened facilities in Kasaragod, Kozhikode, Kottarakkara, and Trivandrum. This will be extremely helpful for all those looking for office spaces with all the necessary facilities attached to it,” Ashok Kurien, business development officer, LEAP Coworks, told The New Indian.

With the rebranding of the new KSUM headquarters in Technopark as LEAP Coworks Space, KSUM aims to offer standardized co-working spaces throughout the state for startups.

The LEAP Coworks offers state-of-the-art infrastructure, well-designed workspaces, meeting rooms, high-speed internet connectivity, and other essential amenities, providing a conducive work environment for startups and entrepreneurs.

Benefits of the membership card include additional subsidies for KSUM partnering events, talent acquisition support, cloud credits, uninterrupted internet and electricity

Despite the transformation into a coworking model, KSUM will continue to provide valuable incubation support services to startups, including mentorship programs, business development assistance, access to funding opportunities, and expert guidance.

The co-working space will foster a vibrant community of like-minded individuals and startups, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking. KSUM will also organize regular events, workshops, and networking sessions to facilitate meaningful connections.

Through LEAP, KSUM aims to introduce flexible membership plans to accommodate the various needs of startups, including hot desks, dedicated desks, and private office spaces, providing startups with the flexibility to scale up their operations as they grow.
