This is all happening when security agencies have issued an input that Kejriwal is facing threat from Khalistani elements.

NEW DELHI: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has reportedly declined the security provided by the Delhi Police, sources in the department told The New Indian. According to sources, the Punjab Police is now reportedly providing him with round-the-clock security.

Punjab Police also claimed that Kejriwal is no longer utilizing the services of the Personal Security Officer (PSO) assigned by the Delhi Police. Sources emphasized that, as per rules, the security of a former Chief Minister falls under the jurisdiction of the respective state. Therefore, Punjab Police should not interfere in this matter.

“The Punjab Police is violating the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) by providing security in this manner. This is against established protocol,” the sources stated. They further suggested that Kejriwal’s lack of trust in the Delhi Police might be the primary reason for this shift.

“Punjab Police cannot provide security without prior permission. They have not communicated with Delhi Police regarding this arrangement.  This raises serious concerns—if anything happens to Kejriwal, who will be held responsible?” the source questioned.
