New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday moved the Supreme Court against a Delhi High Court order refusing to quash his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case.
Kejriwal was first arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), followed by his arrest by the CBI. He was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court to participate in the election campaign. After the expiry of the interim bail, Kejriwal surrendered at Tihar Jail.
Subsequently, he filed a fresh bail plea before the trial court. After arguments, he was granted bail, but the Delhi High Court stayed the bail order. Later, the apex court granted him interim bail again. However, in the meantime, the CBI placed him under arrest.

To date, the ED has conducted searches at 245 locations across the country, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Mumbai, among other places. Fifteen persons, including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Vijay Nair from the AAP, have been arrested in the case so far.
The ED has filed one prosecution complaint and five supplementary complaints in the case.
Recently, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was released on bail by the Supreme Court. The AAP has stated that, like Sisodia, Kejriwal too shall be released on bail.
